RBCS 1 vs Hampton 5
It was an early start, but with the sun shining, the stage was set for a great final match against Hampton School.
The first 15 minutes were dominated by Blue Coat possession, but we struggled to create clear chances or test the opposition goalkeeper. Then, against the run of play, Hampton capitalised on a well-executed corner to take the lead. Buoyed by this, Hampton grew in confidence, while Blue Coat started making errors and chasing the game. Despite pulling one back, we went into half-time trailing 2-1.
The third quarter was one to forget, with Hampton adding three more goals to their tally. However, in true Blue Coat spirit, the team never gave up. Despite being 5-1 down, the boys produced one of their best quarters of the season. With renewed energy and determination, they created multiple chances, but the Hampton goalkeeper and defence were having an outstanding game, denying us a comeback.
Both teams embraced the spirit of Saturday morning school sport, and it was a pleasure to host Hampton—thank you for a great game!
A big shoutout to Leo, our Player of the Match, for his excellent work driving the ball forward in midfield.
