1st - Findlay Bannantyne (RBCS)
2nd - Alegra (Kendrick)
3rd - Hugo Rolton (RBCS)
It was a beautiful, sunny afternoon at Dinton Pastures for the inaugural sailing regatta against Shiplake. Unfortunately, Shiplake could only bring two sailors, so we opened the regatta to the Dinton Sailing Club, bringing a total of 14 dinghies onto the water.
With changing wind conditions – from nothing to barely a breeze – it came down to the students developing the important skill of sailing in extremely light winds, maximising every bit of speed from their dinghies.
After four consecutive races, with students from Year 8 to Year 13 competing together, it was a resounding performance from Findlay Bannatyne, who won overall. He was followed by a talented young sailor from Kendrick School, and Year 8 Max Rolton, who placed third overall.
There were also strong performances from Jess Clay in Year 12 and Domenic Coia-Evans, who enjoyed his time on the water while supporting all the sailors.
Thank you, everyone. We look forward to seeing you at the next regatta!
