ISFA Boodles U18 National Cup
Reading Blue Coat football XI vs Clifton College
Score: 3-2 W
Goal scorers: Jaime Llamazares, Alfie Agar, Charlie Smith
MOTM: Charlie Smith
Blue Coat started well playing excellent football making the most of the lovely surface. The dominance in possession lead to many openings and early chances. Eventually one of these chances were taken as Jaime Llamazares made an excellent third man run resulting in a one-on-one finish past the keeper. Blue Coat continued to dominate play beautifully through great composure on the ball from the back three and Henry Mellor and Charlie Smith in midfield. This play was rewarded through a simple tap in for Alfie Agar. This pattern of play continued in the second half as Blue Coat added to their lead through a goal from Charlie Smith after the ball was perfectly set back by Jaime Llamazares. Blue Coat continued to create chances, but a lack of ruthlessness kept the game at 3-0. Two lapses of concentration in the final 15 minutes resulted in 2 late goals for Clifton. However, the boys were able to hang on and progress to round 2 of the ISFA Boodles National Cup, a good performance from the boys!
