Match Report
Reading Blue Coat School 5th XI vs  Burnham Grammar School
On: Wednesday, 15 Jan 2020
Venue: Away

Result: Draw 2-2 - Senior football team of the week for sure.

Goal Scorers: Marius Martin 1 and Jonah Kershaw 1

Man of the Match: The entire team.

Honourable mentions: Ryan almost getting a penalty and Kyle D-W remaining on the pitch the entire game.

the 4.5s were ahead twice (arguably three times) in the game, but fought hard for an important away point against one of the favoured teams in the league.

It is fair to say that VAR could have made the scoreline different or indeed the same. In the first half the home team played well and kept the 4.5s under constant pressure. Richard C captain for the week, made some excellent interceptions and was well aided by the new utility man, Ollie N. The fullbacks Tom P and Ben C pretty much played like Robertson and A-A the entire game, snuffing out attacks and providing the platform for several attacks.

Marius Martin opened the scoring in the first half, with an excellent finish from 4 yards out. Will S could have scored many goals in the game and always provided an outlet. Ed V and Ed B both played superbly in attacking midfield and always looked a threat. Tom L-D looked very composed on the ball as a second half.

Rohan had a quiet first half, but was invigorated by the halftime break with an inspirational second half. Rowan the second utility man of the team played in numerous positions and is almost the first man on the team sheet.

The home team equalised in the first half with a good goal.

After a fantastic team talk the boys were raring to go. They dominated the entire second half and Jonah scored the free kick that Ryan had won, one yard outside of the box. Many more attacks from Blue Coat occurred without more goals being scored. The home team equalised again with a goal that had originally been signalled as offside, but the ref overruled that decision.

Jonnie the workhorse played superbly throughout, thought he had scored deep into injury time, only for that to be ruled offside. so 2-2 in the end and an excellent point away from home.
