Match Report
Reading Blue Coat School 1st XV vs  Bishop Wordsworth's School
On: Wednesday, 20 Nov 2019
Venue: at Home

Lost 19-24

Tries: Price, Newton Crook

Man of the match: Jamie Vickery

Conversions: Harry Herbert x2

Special mention: Year 11 Matt Crook and Harry West played a fantastic 2nd half and really gave us the X- factor in the backs. Matt Crook scored a superb intercept to reignite the come back.

A very well matched and even team where either team could have walked away with the win. Sadly a few costly mistakes and our discipline in certain areas of the pitch let us down and put Bishops on the front foot. This was our biggest challenge of the season as the winner of the game continues on with the Natwest competition, so a lot of pressure on the boys to perform.

With minutes to go and losing by 5 points, we stole the ball from Bishops on our try line and ran the length of the pitch, showing some excellent offloading skills and footwork that hasn't been seen for a while. Sadly a knock on by Bishops try line ended the hopes of the next round.

An extremely successful cup run and a fantastic way to rebuild from the loss against Merchant Taylors under floodlights. Some very competitive matches for the boys and a tough one against St Georges to come at the weekend.
