Match Report
Reading Blue Coat School 2nd XV vs  RGS, High Wycombe
On: Saturday, 07 Sep 2019
Venue: Away

RGS High Wycombe were always going to be a tough test for our first match of the season, however, the 2nd XV can be proud of a strong performance against a very strong side. George Waghorn got the two's off to an excellent start with a penalty but RGS came back strong and hard, keeping us under presure for long periods of time. RBS defended well with some brave tackling particulaly from Jack Hill in the centre, who lead by example and was man of the match, and Ollie Bailey at number 8. Peter Evans played a great game at scrum half considering he was on the back foot much of the game. Indeed, Peter linked up superbly with George Waghorn who were both playing their first game for the 2nd XV. Will Grifiths who also had a superb match scored RBSs only try which was converted by George Wagorn. Some of the forward play was also outstanding with every player giving 100% both in attack and defence. The final score did not reflect just how close this game was and considering most of the team were year 12s the coaches are very excited about seeing this team develop during the coming season.
