U15A Match Report- RBC 17 - 15 AGS

Try scorers- Christian Melhuish (2), Fin Mackay

Conversions- Joe Smart

Men of Match- Without Ollie McMillan's turnovers at the breakdown we simply would not have won this match. Joe Smart- for his leadership, bravery and organisation it was an amazing team defensive effort.

Brief Report- Having lost by over 30 points last year, it was a match that the team were looking forward to, but, with nervous anticipation. Playing with intensity in the first half we had great territory and field position and executed a well worked move with Fin finishing midway through the first half. AGS retained possession well but were unable to break the RBC defence before half time.

With the wind against us in the second half and AGS frustrated with their own performance we were up against it in the second period but Christian Melhuish extended our lead with a try to spark disbelief similar to that of Japan's celebrations vs Ireland. However, the job was not done and AGS came back into the game retaking the lead 3 minutes prior to full time. RBC regathered and finished the job with Christian again crossing the white wash.

This was an amazing performance given last years result and the defensive organisation was exemplary. All boys should be extremely proud of themselves and rest up for Mondays cup game.

Targets for then are minimising handling errors, not losing defensive shape in our own 22 and building phases in a more patient manner maximising possession.

Top job guys.
