On: Saturday, 23 Nov 2019
Venue: at Home

Result: Won 25 - 15

Tries: James Harris x 3, Henry Mellor, Max Marshall

Notable performances:

James Harris for 3 superbly taken tries.

Charlie Lucas for 3 try saving tackles at a crucial stage of the match.

Tom Warren and Henry Mellor for very strong running in the centres.

Dayal Sidhu for winning a number of crucial scrums as hooker.

This was the best game of rugby this team has played so far this season to record an exciting win over St George's College, with seven minutes to go the scores were level. The tackling and commitment were so much improved, and the fact that James Harris scored a hat-trick of tries out wide demonstrated that at last the ball was being moved into the spaces.

St George's scored first and looked a good team but Blue Coat came back strongly to lead 10 - 5 at the interval. Another try just after the interval gave daylight but back came St George's with two quick scores, all level and with the momentum. A magnificent try-saving tackle by Charlie Lucas then turned the game and two late scores by Blue Coat secured the match. Tom Warren, making his debut, was excellent though took a nasty bang to the shoulder late on and along with Henry Mellor in the centre, were always a threat.

A great team performance and one which showed just how much progress has been made. Well done!
