U15A Match Report

RBC 52 - 0 St Georges

Tries: Tom David (4), Jack Rushton (2), James Stewart, Fin Mackay

Cons - Tom David (6)

Man of the match- Tom David- 32 points from an individual in a game is an outstanding effort. He also set up another with an audacious throw the legs pass! Absolutely brilliant on the day.

Brief report:

Putting 52 points on St Georges at A team level is a serious result and was a great response to last two games which didn't go our way by the narrowest of margins.

On what was another wet Saturday morning, the boys played simple but effective rugby and scored some brilliant tries with many of them being 'team' tries with the number of people involved in the build up.

It just seem to click at times and with Jack Rushton, Tom David and James Stewart putting us constantly on the front foot with line break after line break, tries came aplenty. The kicking game also went well and you can't underestimate playing in the right areas of the field. Really pleasing that we didn't concede because we were camped in our 22 a number of times, but with immaculate defensive organisation and consistently turning over ball we managed to escape unscathed in terms of points.

Special mention to George Thomas who has been out all season through injury. It was great to see his energy and enthusiasm around the park and we're glad to have him back.

Targets for next game- discipline- in what was an ill tempered affair, the boys need to focus on their games and not get involved with players on the opposite team away from the ball. They also need to listen to and respect communication from the referee. Giving 14 penalties away at the breakdown in other games will mean you lose the game and so this must be something we work on midweek in the county cup semi against Pangbourne College.
