Reading Blue Coat School Boys-U15A vs  English Schools Cup - South West regional Final
On: Wednesday, 12 Jun 2019
Venue: Away

The Inters and Juniors both put in magnificent performances at the South West Region 'A' Final against the other top 7 schools in the area, at the brilliant setting of the Millfield track.

Despite being down in 6th at half-way, the Inters knew their strength lay on the track and some tremendous performances, led by Matt Kirk's opening hurdles race of the afternoon saw the team storm back into 3rd overall with a points tally of 426 - a hugely impressive result.

Full results are available here: Any points total over 30 is a great achievement but notable mentions should go to:

Matt Kirk - 44 pts, Gabriel Isaacs & Jack Webb 41 pts Jake Gaines 37pts Carlos Bakker 31pts & Sam Hodgson 23 pts in the 1500m - brilliant performances.

The Juniors were in a highly impressive 1st at the half-way stage with 221 pts, albeit that total included Toby Splain's Pole Vault from the field in our track total but high hopes were set for the afternoon with the chances of qualifying for the Nationals looking good. Unfortunately, we fell away slightly in the afternoon field events which meant a very impressive 5th place in the region was a disappointing end result, despite being a superb achievement in itself accruing 390 pts and only 2 points off 3rd.

Again, anything over 30 points is superb so notable performances were:

Nadir Naseem & Tom Day 39pts James Davis 38pts Toby Splain 37 pts Lucas Dance 36pts
