Match Report
Reading Blue Coat School 2nd XV vs  City of London Freemen's
On: Saturday, 21 Sep 2019
Venue: Away

On a beautiful sunny morning at City of London Freeman's school we had a repeat of last weeks excellent performance against Shiplake College. A lot of hard work has gone into training to eradicate weaknesses that we have identified from the previous game. Our hard work is paying off. The 2nd XV were in control of the game from the word go. The 2nd XVs first try was scored by Toby Hoare after strong running by the backs and dominant forward rucking, this, in turn, set the pattern of the match. Toby Hoare, Barnaby Thompson, Ben Hitchen and Seb Rushton all deserve a mention due to their powerful forward play. This was supported by some great lines of running performed by Will Stam, Jack Hill, Harry Williams and Ben Bruun. The Blue Coat set piece was also solid with some great line out work performed by Louis Skelton and Zak Shields. The 2nd XV also defended well against a well drilled opposition pack. Peter Evans and George Waghorn were excellent as half backs and a 37-7 final score was a good reflection of how the game went.

Tries scored by Hoare, Skelton, Waghorne and Stam

Men of the match: Seb Rushton and Will Stam
