RBCS lost by 3 wickets

RBCS won the toss and elected to bat. We started really well with Kulkarni and McLoughlin playing good cricket shots and rotating the strike well. All of sudden we seem to throw our wickets away by playing half hearted shots, and not committing to it. By losing the 1st wicket with 29 on the board, we seem to lose wickets continuesly. 4 players made double figures with Lancaster 17 played nicely and Baker making 18 not out at the end to give us 87 for 8 in our 20 overs. The positive about our batting is we completed 20 overs.

The 2nd Half of our Bowling Micheal Stent set the tone with a wicket in the 1st over. Magdalen were in trouble as they lost wickets with Stent getting the first 4 wickets as he bowled beautifully. Magdalen were 65 for 7 and we couldn’t get batsman 8 & 9 out as they managed to win the game from there. You can’t afford to drop catches, especially when you are chasing a small target. We lost the game in bowling 12 wides and 5 no balls which realistically cost us. It’s a learning curve for our boys, and can only get better by playing matches like this.

Moving forward there are positives, we just have to make sure we learn and get it right for the next game.

Man of the Match Micheal Stent 4 for 13 in 4 overs.
