Match Report
Reading Blue Coat School Boys-U13B vs  The Forest School, Winnersh
On: Thursday, 14 Mar 2019
Venue: Away

Thursday 14 March 2019

Result: Lost 0-3

Man of the Match: Arnav Kulkarni.

Honourable mentions: Jack Rees impressed in defence in his inaugural game for the Bs, Arnav Kulkarni earned the Man of the Match award after making some great saves, and Sam Deacon displayed strength and determination in his defensive role.

It feels like a long time since RBCS U13Bs last managed to score a goal. After the 9-0 victory at Reading School 12 days ago, we have subsequently played out a goalless draw, followed by a 0-2 defeat, and today, a 0-3 defeat.

The Forest School deserved their victory, which was sealed in the first half. It took fewer than 90 seconds to get off the mark, with the wind playing a crucial role, with the ball's curvature totally flummoxing goalkeeper Kulkarni. Despite some solid defending leading on from going behind, this wasn't sufficient and a low power drive across the goal led to The Forest School's second after 7 minutes.

Jack Rees, Coen Djamson and Jack Leftley did all they could to keep The Forest School strikers away, but a third goal was inevitable, and this came on the quarter hour mark.

Positive contributions throughout the game from Paddy Norton, Louis Lancaster and Rory Scott did nothing to aid our cause in getting back into the game, and credit must be handed to The Forest School for the tenacity, spirit and flair that they displayed throughout.

We look forward to our next game on Saturday, against Latymer Upper School, kicking off on the Bottom Dunster pitch at 09:30.
