Salesians 5-4 RBCS

Scorers: Ryan, Isbell (2),Carpenter

The 12As lost their 100% record in a close and competitive game against a well balanced Salesians team.

Blue Coat enjoyed the best of the early exchanges and deservedly took the lead through Quinn Ryan after 10 minutes. The boys lost a bit of focus after the goal and Salesians scored directly from the restart.

A seesaw half saw Salesians go 2-1 up and then James Isbell scored twice to give RBCS the lead. Salesians equalised just before half time.

Salesians scored early in the second half and Blue Coat were denied an equaliser when Tom Ellington’s effort was adjudged to be offside. RBCS continued to press forward but were hit once more on the break to make the score 5-3. Dom Carpenter scored a penalty with a minute to go to give RBCS hope, but it wasn’t to be.

It was a tight game, that on another day might have swung their way. However if you concede 5 goals you’re always going to be up against it.
