Match Report
Reading Blue Coat School Boys-U16A vs  Aylesbury Grammar School
On: Saturday, 29 Sep 2018

Whilst it is unusual to see a losing team applauded off the pitch with such enthusiasm, the U16s certainly deserved credit, not only for running a big, well drilled Aylesbury side within a score, but for a reaction against a disappointing loss on Wednesday.

Defence was the theme of training and the commitment on display was testament to a desire to improve. George Waghorn put in an all action display, marshalling the line from 10. Harry Herbert was key in a try saving tackle to keep the team in touch before his running lines inspired a fight back that could have turned the game on its head. Johnny Lillie had a superb reintroduction to the A team centres, running and tackling hard enough to worry any opposition line up.

Ollie Bailey was once again a beast in the loose, evidenced by yet another try. Max Summers and Teo Pieterson were a nuisance at every opportunity and kept Aylesbury on their toes at the breakdown. Dexter Beard’s finish at the death showed everyone the potential this team has to rip an opposing defence to shreds. I have no doubt that with the cohesion built through training together this team will go on to some great things.
