Match Report
Reading Blue Coat School Boys-U12B vs  Magdalen College School
On: Saturday, 08 Dec 2018
Venue: at Home

Result: Won 35-0

Tries: Tom Ellington x 2, Jonny Macpherson x 2, Dominic Rolt, Ben Doubleday, Jack Pain

Notable performances: Khalil Orange, Jonny Macpherson, the whole team

This was an excellent way to round off the season with a comfortable win over Magdalen College School from Oxford. The Blue Coat boys were physically stronger and once they got into their stride there was only ever going to be one winner. Five first half tries sealed the contest though a spirited fightback by MCS in the second half was good to see.

Jonny Macpherson was excellent in all departments and Khalil Orange was a difficult player to stop. It was good to have Jack Pain back and he celebrated his return with a good try. Dom Rolt also had a fine game whilst Tom Ellington was rapid in scoring his tries. The teams nomination for 'player of the match' was in fact the whole team so well done to everybody who played.

The team played with great spirit and the progress they have made since September has been immense. Especially pleasing today was the attempt to spread the ball wide and this is an area to work on further in the future. It has been most enjoyable working with this group of players this term and I do look forward to seeing how they progress in the coming years.
