What a way to finish the season! Kick off by MCS landed in the safe hands and rapid legs of Tom Wong, who motored his way around the opposition defence and over the line within 20 seconds of kick off! Zach Hawkes soon made that 2 tries, picking up from the back of the scrum and running almost the length of the pitch to score the first of his 4 tries of the game. Blue Coat dominated play, running hard and straight and ensuring that tackles were made early, keeping MCS on the back foot.

The second half was more contested by MCS, but never out of Blue Coat control, who played even tighter rugby at the breakdown and continued to force MCS to play defensively. MCS never rolled over, however, and looked to run the ball and kick into space when the opportunity arose, giving Ben Jones at full back plenty to do and opportunity to shine with some excellent tackling and runs from deep. Ed Verstringhe had another great game at scrum half and Zach Boardman scored a very well deserved final try. But, this was not a game dominated by the excellence of an individual. Rather, as a team, and from start to finish, the boys worked hard, supported and encouraged one another and played with the vital ingredients of self-belief and determination. It was a brilliant win and super way to end the season. Very well done, boys; I am very proud of the way you played today.
