A muddy, boggy and heavy pitch along with strong winds met the U13B side at Tiffin, who were expected to be one of the toughest tests of the season. The boys left Tiffin covered in mud and sweat in a state of exhaustion after the game met all the tough expectations.

A tight first 10 minutes was scoreless as both teams took time to adapt to conditions, the ball was dropped or blown away in the wind several times but the levels of physicality from both sides was high. Blue Coat got into their stride as they started to work the pick and go and more simple attacking play. Before some good defensive pressure lead to Henry intercepting just in front of the posts to score.

A second followed in similar style, Bertie Pain jumping on loose ball after Tiffin were pressured behind their own posts.

The second half was a classic, the conditions worsened but the quality of tackling and defence from both sides continued to impress. Tiffin were camped in Blue Coat's half for 20 minutes of the half, Blue Coat were valiant in their efforts, George M and Lenny with some stand out tackling on the try line. However pressure told, he score back level (2-2) with 5 minutes to play.

Blue Coat looked like they might lose the game, but from somewhere found a superb 5 minutes of rugby. Starting by turning over the ball on the half way line, they picked and went and picked and went and picked and went right up to try line. The forwards with some excellent handling and strength met with a team rucking effort to secure the ball every time. After what seemed like about 15 phases, Henry Hawes added the final touch and broke through to score again.

The whistle went soon after, both teams should be proud with the skills and determination on show.
