Match Report
Reading Blue Coat School Boys-U14A vs  Tiffin School
On: Saturday, 01 Dec 2018
Venue: at Home

RBCS 22 - 15 Tiffin School

Tries: James Stewart, Jack Rushton (2), Ollie McMillan

Man of the Match: Jack Rushton

Blue Coat’s started the game a little sluggishly and were punished early on by a breakaway try that was duly converted.

The tackling was a bit lacklustre in the early phase of the match, but slowly the boys began to claw their way back into the game. They were rewarded midway through the half, when James Stewart managed to break through the defensive line to score. George Thomas added the conversion to level the score.

The end of the first half unfortunately saw a serious injury to one of the Tiffin boys. There was a 25 minute break whilst he was attended to and sent off to hospital.

The second half brought a much more committed performance from RBCS and, after an early try from “man of the match” Jack Rushton, the boys controlled the remainder of the game. Jack added a second try and the scoring was rounded off by Ollie McMillan.

This was a solid all round performance from RBCS, but they’ll need to be more focused at the start of Friday’s County Cup Final.
