Reading Blue Coat School 1st XI vs  Gordon's School
On: Wednesday, 30 Jan 2019
Venue: at Home

Blue Coat managed a hard-earned win against a strong Gordons side that has reached the last 16 of the National Cup. We seemed to be tactically well set and had more of the play before Theo Wayland-Smith was put through and jinked inside to score on his full debut for the 1st XI and it remained 1-0 to the break.

With us having the best of the few chances at either end, it was somewhat against the run of play when Cam Ireland made a sliding defensive challenge and was very unlucky to divert the ball beyond Dan Algar from 20 yards out.

Unperturbed, we got back to the job, created more scoring opportunities and from a corner, the ball came off Kieran Burgess's thigh to sneak into the corner, and we held on for what was a deserved victory.

So hard to pick an MoM when everybody played so well but Josh Harris was the versatile workhorse who left nothing on the pitch.
