One of the biggest games the 1st XV will play, Shiplake College. The local rivalry has intensified after losing last years encounter, the first time in 6 years, this game meant a lot more to come away with a hard fought victory.

It was an extremely tough match and after an intense 20 minutes, both teams producing a fine spectacle of rugby, with RBCS out in front from a Sam Jolly penalty, excellent finishing by Louis Brown to get his double and Josh Smart scored a try to make the score 22-0. A Shiplake injury meant a 40 minute delay before play could resume. Shiplake got on the score sheet due to lack of discipline and missed tackles. At half time it was 22-7.

Shiplake came back in the 2nd half and scored to make it 22-14. There was some heroic defending from Will Perkin and Christian Scott that prevented conceding any more tries and Josh Smart was again on the fine form scoring the last try to put the game out of reach for Shiplake.

What a start, well done to all those involved in all the matches this weekend.
