Match Report
Reading Blue Coat School Boys-U14B vs  Churcher's College
On: Saturday, 12 Oct 2019
Venue: Away

Lost: 17 - 33

Man of the Match: Bertie Pain

Honourable mentions: Charlie Davies-Carr, Keahn Stannard and Harrison Sands

A classic game of two halves:

The mighty Bs had (another) slow start to their match with the Churcher's forwards dominating Blue Coat's newly formed pack. The backs tackled valiantly, a huge improvement compared to our first couple of games, but the relentless pressure and repeated loss of procession led to Churcher's leading 23 - 0 at the break. At half time, we reshuffled the team to minimise the turnovers, retain procession and better utilise the newly promoted C team players: Charlie Davies-Carr, Keahn Stannard and Harrison Sands. These changes had the desired effect with the whole team working better together, leading to three tries and the mighty Bs winning the second half 17 - 10. Overall we lost, but we demonstrated that we could be competitive, even with a number of players unable to play or having moved up to the A team.

We will be focusing on rebuilding our pack this week and have our next match this Tuesday.
