Match Report
Reading Blue Coat School Boys-U13A vs  District Cup
On: Thursday, 06 Jun 2019
Venue: Away

The Junior Athletics team had an excellent start to the season with the As recording a comfortable win over nearest rivals Bohunt by 10 points in their match. This points tally was enough to be overall leaders, narrowly edging our Maiden Erlegh by 1 point to get a celebrity mention in the local paper! Unfortunately we are missing week 3 of the competition so it was important to accrue as many points as possible to get into the A final in the first two weeks and this was an excellent start to achieve that goal. The Bs also performed well and for many athletes it was their first time on a 'proper' track. The format of the District is heavily biased towards the schools with strong sprinters with only 1 runner in the 1000m so going away from RBC's traditional strength off the back of cross-country. Nevertheless, really encouraging field performances saw both teams go well.
