Match Report
Reading Blue Coat School Boys-U14A vs  English Schools Cup, County Round
On: Wednesday, 15 May 2019
Venue: Away

Result : Won

This was an excellent result for the combined year 9/10 team in the county round of the English Schools Cup winning by five points over the Windsor Boy's School. At the half way stage after the field events the team were lying in fourth place, but a superb effort on the track pulled the team to victory.

Harry Martin was excellent in both the high jump and 200m, as was Matthew Kirk in the javelin and hurdles where he scored a massive 24 points with 12.1 seconds. Tom David also had a very good day with the shot and hurdles as did Ollie Deacon with the 800m and triple jump along with Carlos Bakker in the 200m and javelin. Jack Webb scored a massive 24 points in the 300m as did Sam Hodgson in the 1500m where he was closely followed in by Chris Parker. Harry Armstrong sprinted well in the 100m, Ollie Bryant was very good in the 800m, George Thomas threw a good discus, Jake Gaines jumped 1.53m in the high jump and James Stewart threw over 9m in the shot put. In fact the whole team performed very well indeed and a trip to Millfield School now looks very likely on Wednesday June 12th where the team will compete in the South West regional Finals, though this is to be confirmed.
